MBO Next Zuidoost
The MBO College Zuidoost, part of the ROC van Amsterdam, recently engaged in the development of a community platform for current and former students, known as MBO Next Zuidoost.
The goal of the platform is to strengthen the ties between the school and its former students, to add value for the students and former students, to provide students with possibilities for life long learning and to help them find a job after they graduated. Miranda Wijnand (Project manager Link | MBO Next Zuidoost | LLO): "With compassion and dedication Rubylibre has created a valuable community platform for our former students of MBO College Zuidoost – ROC van Amsterdam: MBO NEXT Zuidoost. The platform helps our former students by being a useful, solid and trusted network where former students meet, share knowledge, follow education or training and find jobs or colleagues.
Our MBO students are the future engines of our economy. We cherish them and care about their future. That is why we think it is important to contribute to their development and growth even after their graduation and during the next steps in their career.
"Working with them is a blast. Rubylibre is a very pleasant group of people with a lot of expertise, creativity and a flexible but focused way of communicating. "

Together with Rubylibre we have completed an intensive and beautiful journey from research to a functioning platform in developing MBO NEXT Zuidoost. Working with them was a blast. Rubylibre is a very pleasant group of people with a lot of expertise, creativity, a flexible way of communicating with sincere tone and intention. We have experienced how important that is when working together and we thank them for that."
APPROACH
The development process began with a thorough research and stakeholder interview phase, during which the team conducted UX research and gathered input from stakeholders, students and former students to inform the creation of the platform's concept. Once the concept was established, it was tested with the same groups to validate its effectiveness.
Based on this feedback, the team designed and developed a MVP using Webflow as the technology. The MVP offered job offerings and courses, and featured a user-friendly interface that was easy to navigate. However, as the platform continued to evolve, the team recognized the need for a more robust technology solution.
As a result, the platform was upgraded from Webflow to a more solid, custom technological solution. This allowed for the addition of new functionalities, such as job and internship postings for employers, as well as networking functionalities, a message board and personal profiles. Additionally, all servers and online services used are compliant with GDPR regulations.
THE STORY CONTINUES
The platform's development doesn't stop here. The team continues to improve the platform based on testing and measuring. By analyzing user behavior, feedback and data, the team is able to identify areas for improvement and make adjustments accordingly. This process allows for the identification of new opportunities for growth, and the implementation of new features and functionalities that respond to the evolving needs of the students and former students.
The MBO Next Zuidoost platform represents a significant investment in the success of the school's students and alumni, through its emphasis on user experience and its commitment to ongoing improvement. It serves as a valuable tool for career development, lifelong learning, and community building, while also providing a valuable service to employers seeking to connect with a talented pool of potential employees.
